Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you have a wonderful holiday!

I am having an interesting holiday. This is the first holiday i am not spending it with family, which is a little hard/different. My husband is on the road, My kids are out of town, and my mom has moved out of state. It is a first for me. So to celebrate Christmas I am curled up with fresh cookies and watching holiday movies.

Randall and I did have a wonderful Christmas while he was home last week. Everyone loved their gifts and we had a blast. He left a couple days again and of course i miss him already.

This is going to be a short entry, But MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

YAY!

I am happy to report my trucker is coming home! Wooot. Now I have to get up and do some cleaning and get his favorite dinner all ready to go. He is in Spokane and he will be here in about 5 hours, I cant wait. I think our dog knows hes coming home, she has been acting all crazy every time the phone rings.

Tomorrow we will be doing Christmas, Randall wanted to do it tonight but I had to remind him that Santa only shows up when everyone is sleeping. Then I had to explain to our boys how Santa was coming early, which by the way was an interesting story. I told them that Daddy and all the other truckers work with Santa to make sure that all of Santa's toys are in each city Santa will be going to. So Santa rewards all of the truck drivers like their daddy by coming to each one of their houses when they can make it home for Christmas. My sons look at each other and they smile. They told there preschool teacher today that their dad works with Santa. They were so excited. It was the cutest thing ever. My sister told me that i shouldn't have to lie to the kids but in my head they are still so little and if they want to believe in Santa so be it. In our family the rule is you have to believe to receive. So when they are ready I will let them know but you still have to believe or you don't receive.  And who cares if they think all truck drivers work with Santa, they all really do. If we didn't have truck drivers how would we have anything.

So that got me wondering, What does everyone else tell there little ones when they ask about Santa or Dad/Mom being home early for the holidays? Do you just do Christmas on Christmas or do you do it whenever they are home?

Crazy Week

I have had a crazy week since I have left you last week. I have been running around like a crazy person trying to get Christmas all together. My husband isn't home yet to spend Christmas with us, but he is trying to make it. They keep trying to send him on crazy loads no where near us, its kind of driving me crazy. As we all know this is the life of a trucker wife. I feel we never know when our trucker is coming home, just that he will be there eventually. So I have gotten everything done and ready for when he gets home since I know he will only be home for his 34 hour break and then it is back on the road again.

I am really excited to see him when he gets home. I have also started my honey-do list. He thinks its funny since its Christmas he feels he shouldn't have to do his list, but I still have a few projects I need him to do while he is home. He should just be happy he wasn't home to hang up all the Christmas lights and the tree, he was so happy to dodge that bullet.

I am still trying to deal with a few things while hes gone. I miss him terribly and sometimes its hard to handle sometimes. I am so proud of him, He is working so hard. I love him for doing everything he can to make sure our family has everything we need.

Christmas Dilemma's

Hello! (To all of you reading this) My Name is Johnnie and I have only been a trucker wife for 4 months now. I have two step children who only visit six times a year. So while my trucker is gone its normally just me and Bella, the dog. My husband works for Swift, while i stay home with all of my craft projects. I wanted to start this blog to find and talk to other trucker wives. So here is my first entry enjoy!

So as we all know Christmas is creeping up on all of us. The Bigger question I feel all trucker wives have before deciding what to get everyone this year is, Are you going to be home on Christmas? I'm not even sure why I didn't even think that he might not be home. I was talking with my mom and she was asking me " Is he going to be home", In my head I'm like of course he is why wouldn't he be... then it dawned on me. So I talked to my trucker and he is not going to make. But we have decided to do Christmas this coming week.(MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!) My step son was like SWEET I get presents early.

The next Christmas dilemma I had was what do you get your trucker? Well with Randall on the truck and not a lot of space for things I had no idea. So I asked him what he wanted or needed, and of course I got the answer most men give.."I don't know" I'm telling you if I had a dollar for every I don't know I have gotten from this man I would be a rich girl. So back to my problem, I couldn't think of anything so I asked a few people and they are telling me Maps, Water bottles, Sleeping Bags, and GPS. I was even more lost by the time I was done talking with these ladies. I'm like why would he need a GPS doesn't the truck come with one and Who looks at a map while driving? Needless to say they thought I was dumb but what can I say this is all new to me. So I asked my husband one more time hoping for a new answer so this what he gives me. "I want a Go Pro 4... I'm like why in the hell would you need one of those? Are you going to record your self driving? like start a you tube channel called ON THE ROAD AGAIN. We laughed so hard. So I came up with something similar and I hope he likes it.
